Significant Accomplishments
  • Chi’s first scholarship fund was established in 1986 and honored Dr. Donald Bowdle for his many contributions to the organization.

  • Chi played 100 hours of marathon softball for the March of Dimes on April 1-5, 1986, and broke the previous world record of 96 hours.

  • Chi raised money in the spring of 1990 to send $25,000 worth of medical equipment and supplies to Honduras.

  • Chi announced in the spring of 1993 plans to build an Eternal Flame to honor the lives and ministry of Dr. Don and Nancy Bowdle. It was dedicated at Homecoming 1993 as a part of Chi’s “Tri-Chi” thirtieth anniversary celebration.

  • Chi raised over $3,000 for Multiple Sclerosis by hosting a Bike-A-Thon in the name of honorary member Eddie Boyd. Chi was recognized by MS as a top fundraiser in the state of Tennessee.

  • Chi played 101 hours and 9 minutes of marathon softball to raise $40,000 dollars for hurricane Katrina survivors on October 26 - October 30, 2005. All the funds raised went to the People for Care and Learning and to Men and Women of Action. Chi broke the previous record set by Chi in 1986 by 1 hour and 9 minutes.
